Platforms Project 2020 via Platforms Project Net. 14 to 31 May 2020.
Now in its eighth consecutive year, Platforms Project is the international
show that indicatively charts the art currently produced through collective
initiatives by young artists on the international scene as they join forces to
seek answers to contemporary artistic questions.

In recent weeks, the whole world has been experiencing the rapid
developments around the COVID-19 pandemic. Platforms Project, taking seriously
into account the events as they unfold globally, the difficulty for many of our
exhibitors to travel to Athens and the need to safeguard the health of artists
and visitors alike, has decided to postpone this year’s event. Evidently, this
year we will not get together; but creativity and
art does not stop, so we shall meet on the internet. Platforms Project
establishes a new approach to art viewing via Platforms Project Net, a
web-based art fair.

We stay at home but we continue to create and bring together the voices
of the independent art scene, demonstrating the power of art and technology.

A virtual plan view of the ‘Nikos
Kessanlis” exhibition space of the Athens School of Fine Arts shows the
platforms installed in their digital stands. Viewers can click on a platform’s
number and title and see the works presented by each artist in the group
(video-art, painting, photography, installations, etc). They will also be able
to watch online a rich and varied
programme of lectures on contemporary art matters, in Greek and English, as
well as the online performances and videos of the participating groups.
Visitors to the new Platforms Project NET may engage in direct,
real-time dialogue with the artists over the internet as part of the overall
interactive experience.
