Το Ανεκπλήρωτο, η Αναμονή, η Προσμονή, η Ματαίωση, η Παραίτηση, με άλλα
λόγια ο Χρόνος είναι το θέμα των έργων της φωτογράφου Όλγας Τζίμου τα οποία
παρουσιάζονται στην Gallery7 με τίτλο «After the Party».

Άνθρωποι εγκαταστημένοι ασταθώς σε έναν κινηματογραφικό χώρο, που δείχνει
δικαιωματικά να τους ανήκει. Σκηνές βγαλμένες από το πρόσφατο αστικό ελληνικό
παρελθόν, μάρτυρες μιας χαμένης αναζήτησης, θέτουν ερωτηματικά, αδιαφορώντας
για απαντήσεις. Οι πρωταγωνιστές κολυμπούν σε ένα ξεπεσμένο κλέος, προαιώνια
φυτά, αρχαϊκές μορφές, ανέκαθεν εκεί, στην κόψη της ζωής που, σαν
κινηματογραφική ταινία, περνά από μπροστά τους. Ο παραπλανητικά ανάλαφρος
τίτλος «Mετά από το Πάρτυ», κατευθύνει και οριοθετεί
την αναζήτηση, πλάθει χώρο. Οφείλουμε να κινηθούμε σε αστικά Interieurs. Δερμάτινοι καναπέδες, βελούδινες πολυθρόνες, κρυστάλλινες καράφες, πιάνα,
καθρέφτες και φτερά παγωνιού, γούνες και γάντια, αξεσουάρ της μπουρζουαζίας,
μιας κοινωνίας εδώ σαφώς αναμνηστικής, με την έννοια του παρελθόντος χρόνου.

ξεχασμένες ξανθιές. Το χρώμα είναι ψυχρό, χειμερινό, πλήρες αποστάσεως.

Ξεκίνησε την καριέρα της σαν φωτορεπόρτερ στον ελληνικό τύπο. Δουλεύει ψηφιακά
αλλά και με φιλμ πάνω στη φωτογραφία και το βίντεο. Το ύφος της κινείται
ανάμεσα στο ντοκουμέντο και στη σκηνοθετημένη εικόνα.

μας.

other words Time is the broad subject of the photographer Olga Tzimou which are
presented in Gallery7 with title “After the party”.

are unsteadily set up in a cinematic space, which appears to rightly belong to
them.

Scenes
taken out of the recent urban Greek past, witnesses to a futile search, ask
questions, disregarding answers. The protagonists swim in a faded glory,
eternal plants, archaic forms, always there, at the end of life that, like a
film, passes before us. The seductively airy title “After the Party”
tests the viewer, directs and demarcates the search, creates space.

the bourgeoisie, a society of course commemorative, in the sense of time past.
Boundaries, forgotten heroes in car/symbols of other times, theatrical
characters, hanging on winter swings, half-blindly forgotten blondes in hotel
beds. The color is cold, wintry full from a distance. The absence of warm
colors is continuous and decisive. Where there are earthy colors, brown, beige,
ocher, they are below temperature. The shades of blue dominate, the reds are
almost pink. The shadows are present without being dramatic. Light and Shadow
create space without straining the feeling. The photographer’s lens is penetrating.
The depth of field is large, and sharp in detail. At a time when nothing is
clear, the image demands the greatest clarity.

She

photojournalist for greek newspapers and magazines.

over 20 years she has been working with photographic films and video
narrations.She has participated in group exhibitions and festivals in Greece
and abroad. Tzimou’s work blends documentary and staged photography dealing
with time (you never know the “when”), space (the “where”
is vague) and memory (moments captured in your mental subfolders).
