MouSou team creates “Unfold 2022” on 15th to 19th of June 2022 during the 59th International Art Exhibition of Venice Biennale.

MouSou* team (Maria Nymfiadi and Lea Petrou) is realising the second version of the project "Unfold", which was first presented in 2019, during the 58th International Art Exhibition of Venice Biennale.

The 59th Biennale, scheduled for 2021, has been postponed due to the Covid 19 pandemic and takes place in 2022 instead. The artists will examine the effects of this “time diversion”, during their visit to the international exhibition, from 15th to 19th of June 2022, and will use social media to share the results of their research.

They will also improvise on publications, maps and press releases collected during their stay in Venice, in order to record their personal memories, experiences and walks around the city, on the paper archive collection. An open call will take place on social media, that will identify the recipients to whom the numbered works “Unfold 2022” will be posted.

The first 59 participants who will send an email to mousou.project@gmail.com, stating their full name and postal address under the subject “Unfold 2022”, will have the opportunity to obtain a numbered piece of the “Unfold 2022” series for free.

The MouSou team first met in London, in 2003. Since then, they share ideas, organise and create art projects. The project “Unfold” was created in 2019, on the occasion of the first, inspiring trip of the group to the International Art Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia, held in 2005, and continues to grow in space and time. The artists live in Athens and London.

“Unfold 2022” Αθήνα, Λονδίνο, Βενετία 2022.

Η ομάδα MouSou* (Μαρία Νυμφιάδη και Λία Πέτρου) πραγματοποιεί τη δεύτερη εκδοχή του έργου “Unfold”, το οποίο πρωτοπαρουσιάστηκε στην 58η διεθνή έκθεση τέχνης La Biennale di Venezia, το 2019.

Η 59η Biennale, που ήταν προγραμματισμένη για το 2021, αναβλήθηκε λόγω της πανδημίας Covid 19 και πραγματοποιείται το 2022. Κατά την επίσκεψή τους στη διεθνή έκθεση, από 15 έως 19 Ιουνίου 2022, οι καλλιτέχνιδες θα εξετάσουν τις επιρροές αυτής της “χρονικής εκτροπής” και θα χρησιμοποιήσουν τα μέσα κοινωνικής δικτύωσης για να επικοινωνήσουν τα αποτελέσματα της έρευνά τους.

Επίσης, θα επεξεργαστούν αυτοσχεδιαστικά, έντυπα, χάρτες και δελτία τύπου που θα συλλέξουν κατά τη διάρκεια της παραμονής τους στη Βενετία, με σκοπό να αποτυπώσουν στη συλλογή του χάρτινου αρχείου, τις προσωπικές τους αναμνήσεις, εμπειρίες και διαδρομές στην πόλη. Μέσω ενός ανοικτού καλέσματος, που θα πραγματοποιηθεί στα μέσα κοινωνικής δικτύωσης, θα οριστούν οι παραλήπτες στους οποίους θα σταλούν ταχυδρομικά τα αριθμημένα έργα “Unfold 2022”.

Οι πρώτοι 59 συμμετέχοντες που θα στείλουν email στο mousou.project@gmail.com με θέμα “Unfold 2022”, αναφέροντας το πλήρες όνομα και την ταχυδρομική τους διεύθυνση, θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να αποκτήσουν δωρεάν ένα αριθμημένο έργο της σειράς “Unfold 2022”.

Η ομάδα MouSou βρέθηκε για πρώτη φορά το 2003 στο Λονδίνο. Από τότε μοιράζονται ιδέες,  οργανώνουν και δημιουργούν εικαστικά projects. Το έργο “Unfold” δημιουργήθηκε το 2019, με αφορμή το πρώτο, εμπνευσμένο ταξίδι της ομάδας στη διεθνή έκθεση τέχνης La Biennale di Venezia, που πραγματοποιήθηκε το 2005, και συνεχίζει να αναπτύσσεται στο χώρο και τον χρόνο. Οι καλλιτέχνιδες ζουν στην Αθήνα και το Λονδίνο.
